Our "Bubble Words" are based on the Fry list of the most frequently occuring words in standard non-technical English text. They are also referred to as sight words. Because their spelling is not always straightforward, and doesn't always follow the rules that would allow a reader to sound it out, it is helpful for beginning readers to memorize these words to recognize at sight. Mastery of these sight words will help your reader to build confidence in their reading abilities.
